Manufacturing Manager

Location: Rincon, Georgia

Virginia Transformer is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead production operations at one of North America's largest U.S.-owned power transformer manufacturers.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving production performance, workforce effectiveness, safety, quality, and operational excellence across a growing manufacturing operation. The Manufacturing Manager will oversee production, planning, materials, and labor management while partnering closely with engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and plant leadership to deliver exceptional results.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and has a proven track record of improving throughput, productivity, quality, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations across production, planning, materials, and workforce management.

• Drive execution of production schedules while achieving safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

• Develop and coach supervisors, leads, and production personnel to build a high-performance culture.

• Improve operational performance through Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and problem-solving initiatives.

• Monitor key performance indicators including productivity, labor efficiency, throughput, First Pass Yield (FPY), schedule attainment, and safety performance.

• Partner with supply chain and materials teams to ensure production readiness and inventory accuracy.

• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to drive process improvements and manufacturing excellence.

• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

• Support capital projects, facility improvements, and operational growth initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in industrial, heavy manufacturing, engineered products, electrical equipment, automotive, aerospace, metals, paper, wood products, chemicals, or related industries.

• Experience leading large hourly workforces in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong background in production planning, labor management, safety, quality, and operational performance.

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar operational excellence programs.

• Demonstrated success improving productivity, throughput, quality, and employee engagement.

• Union manufacturing experience is a plus.

• Engineering or technical degree preferred.
