Patient Care Associate - Mount Auburn Hospital, ICU (32 hours rotating)

As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patients with daily activities, monitoring health status, and assisting clinical staff with treatments and procedures. This position follows a three-shift rotating schedule per week, including days, evenings, and nights, offering variety and flexibility in a fast-paced hospital environment. The role is ideal for individuals who are attentive, dependable, and committed to creating a safe, respectful, and patient‑centered experience. You will have opportunities to contribute to care delivery, build clinical skills, and participate in ongoing learning within a dynamic team. Key Responsibilities Assisting with activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, elimination, mobility, comfort, and safety Monitoring and documenting vital signs, patient weight, intake/output, and other key data Completing assigned patient treatments and supporting clinicians with more advanced procedures Performing phlebotomy and EKGs Applying Holter monitors and performing glucometry Collecting, labeling, and preparing specimens accurately Responding promptly to patient call lights and ensuring concerns are resolved Transporting discharged patients safely Providing one-to-one observation when needed Participating in patient care rounds Attending conferences and educational programs as appropriate Maintaining required unit competencies Maintaining BCLS certification Attending the annual Safety Education Fair Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Ability to read and write at a Level 8, as documented in "Invest" (hospital Employee Learning Laboratory software) Strong verbal communication skills to ensure accurate information exchange Excellent interpersonal skills to engage respectfully with patients, visitors, and team members Pay Range $20.00 - $26.92 hourly. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable and in accordance with the law.
