Key Responsibilities of the RN – Emergency Department:
Assess, triage, and provide emergency nursing care to patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and trauma
Perform rapid patient evaluations and prioritize care based on clinical urgency
Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments as prescribed
Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in status
Assist physicians during emergency procedures, resuscitations, and trauma activations
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure efficient patient care and disposition
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
Active Louisiana RN license or Compact RN License
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
TNCC certification preferred
Strong critical-thinking, assessment, and emergency response skills
Experience managing diverse patient populations in a fast-paced emergency setting
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts
