Key Responsibilities\n \n Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments through virtual sessions, identifying unique challenges and needs specific to older adults and tailoring your approach accordingly. \n Develop individualized treatment plans that take into consideration cognitive changes, physical health conditions, and social factors influencing the lives of your clients. \n Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions via telehealth, including individual therapy sessions and family therapy, with a sharp focus on geriatric psychiatric conditions. \n Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that clients receive integrated and coordinated care throughout their treatment journey. \n Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, discussing available treatment options and connecting them to community resources that can enhance their support system. \n Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of therapy sessions and client progress, adhering to both legal and ethical standards necessary for mental health practitioners. \n Patient Population / Client Focus\n Your primary focus will be on older adults experiencing mental health challenges, who often face unique stresses such as cognitive decline, physical health issues, and significant life transitions. You will utilize your understanding of geriatric mental health to foster trust and build rapport with clients and their families, ensuring an empathetic and supportive therapeutic environment. Qualifications\n \n A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n Active and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California. \n A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health therapy role is preferred, highlighting your ability to engage effectively with clients. \n Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders, and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities and interventions. \n Proven experience providing individual and family therapy, focusing on the unique needs of older adults. \n Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for providing patient-centered care. \n Proficient in establishing rapport with elderly patients and their families, using an empathetic approach to therapy. \n Preferred Experience\n \n Experience with telehealth practices and familiarity with teletherapy platforms. \n Background in collaborative practice, working with interdisciplinary teams. \n Knowledge of community resources and programs that support mental health in older adults. \n Compensation and Benefits\n The compensation for this role ranges from $120,000 to $130,000 per year, reflecting your experience and contributions to the organization.
