Position Summary
The VDC Spooler is responsible for producing detailed drawings and data used to pre-fabricate and install piping or duct systems in accordance with contract documents. This role supports efficient shop manufacturing and field installation by ensuring accurate spool definition, coordination, and timely delivery of fabrication information.

Role Responsibilities

• Prepare and release approved design batches for manufacturing.
• Spool piping or duct systems and generate assembly, skid, and production spool drawings/maps for field installation.
• Define spools for shop fabrication and field installation, ensuring clarity and constructability.
• Produce annotated and fully dimensioned spool drawings for shop use.
• Review design batches and individual components for quality, accuracy, and manufacturability.
• Download and transfer manufacturing data from VDC/BIM models to CAM software.
• Batch components into files aligned with shop production requirements.
• Coordinate with VDC Coordinators, shop teams, and field personnel to ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials and drawings to job sites.
• Maintain working knowledge of Revit and other VDC tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience in VDC/BIM, drafting, and/or field construction environments preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit required.
• Strong mathematical and technical aptitude with an understanding of engineering and construction practices.
• Ability to exercise judgment and initiative in resolving issues and making recommendations.
• Capable of managing assigned responsibilities and coordinating tasks under established procedures.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to maintain positive working relationships.
