Senior HR Generalist
Search Solution Group is seeking a Senior HR Generalist on behalf of our client, a leading manufacturing organization. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced plant environment and enjoys serving as a strategic partner to leadership while remaining hands-on with employee relations, workforce support, and organizational initiatives.
This position will support a large manufacturing facility with a significant hourly workforce and will play a key role in helping evolve the HR function into a true business partnership model. The ideal candidate will be someone who can coach leaders, solve workforce challenges, improve employee engagement, and provide strategic HR support across the operation.
Position Overview
The HR Generalist will serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership, supervisors, and employees by providing guidance across employee relations, leadership development, recruiting, compliance, and HR initiatives. This individual will operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and partner closely with business leaders to support organizational goals.
This is not a traditional administrative HR role. The successful candidate will act as an HR Generalist / HR Business Partner hybrid , helping leaders make informed decisions, strengthen their teams, and improve overall workforce effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor to plant leadership and management teams.
- Partner with leaders to identify workforce challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Provide guidance on employee decisions, organizational changes, and HR best practices.
- Support business initiatives through proactive HR strategies and project ownership.
- Help drive a culture where HR is viewed as a strategic business partner.
Employee Relations & Manager Support
- Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and performance concerns.
- Coach supervisors and managers on leadership practices, communication, and employee engagement.
- Provide guidance on policy interpretation and consistent application.
- Identify trends and recommend solutions to improve retention and workplace culture.
- Build strong relationships with employees across all levels of the organization.
Leadership Development
- Support leadership development initiatives for supervisors and managers.
- Coach leaders through employee challenges and day-to-day workforce decisions.
- Help strengthen accountability, communication, and leadership effectiveness.
- Partner with leadership teams to develop a more people-focused culture.
Workforce Planning & Recruiting
- Support hourly and salaried recruiting efforts within a manufacturing environment.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop recruiting strategies.
- Assist with workforce planning initiatives to support business growth.
- Help address labor challenges through proactive talent solutions.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Support HR processes, documentation, reporting, and employee programs.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR information.
- Assist with HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience supporting Human Resources within a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment.
- Strong employee relations experience with the ability to handle sensitive situations.
- Experience coaching supervisors and managers.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with leadership and influence decision-making.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
