Automated Logistical Specialist Keeping the back‑of‑house in order is a key factor in successful mission planning. As an Automated Logistical Specialist in the Army National Guard, you will maximize your organizational skills and learn the ins and outs of supply chain management. From storage and distribution to warehouse management, you will supervise and perform specific functions to maintain equipment records and parts. Major Duties Establish and maintain records (stock lists, inventory, material control, etc.) Maintain stock locator system and administer document control procedures Process requests and turn‑in documents Perform prescribed load‑list and shop‑stock list duties in manual and automated supply applications Operate material‑handling equipment Job Responsibilities Construct bins, shelving and other storage aids Simplify and standardize the collection and use of maintenance data Raise the quality and accuracy of performance, cost, and parts data through improved maintenance management Skills You’ll Learn Stock control and accounting procedures Procedures for shipping, receiving, storing and issuing stock Movement, storage and maintenance of ammunition Procedures for handling medical and food supplies Helpful Skills Interest in mathematics, bookkeeping, accounting, business administration, and/or typing Preference for physical work Interest in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment Benefits and Requirements Paid training A monthly paycheck Montgomery GI Bill, federal and state tuition assistance Retirement benefits for part‑time service Low‑cost life insurance (up to $400,000 coverage) 401(k)-type savings plan Student loan repayment program (up to $50,000) Health care benefits VA home loans Bonuses, if applicable Earn between $200–$250 per drill weekend (subject to change) Must‑Have Qualifications Enlist in the Army National Guard Be at least a junior in high school, or hold a high school diploma or GED Be between 17 and 35 years old Pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards Meet citizenship requirements (see NATIONALGUARD.com) Training Automated Logistical Specialist training requires 10 weeks of Basic Training and 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT).
