What You’ll Do

As a Civil Engineering Intern focused on Land Development, you’ll work alongside experienced civil engineers and project teams on active development projects. Throughout this 11-week internship program, you will:

• Assist with site development and land planning projects
• Support grading, drainage, utility, and stormwater design efforts
• Participate in site layout and permitting coordination
• Attend site visits and observe construction progress
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering
• Gain exposure to client meetings and project coordination processes
• Learn how civil engineering supports commercial, industrial, and housing development projects from concept through construction

Software & Technical Skills You’ll Learn

Interns will receive hands-on experience using industry-standard civil engineering software and tools, including:

• AutoCAD
• Civil 3D
• Bluebeam Revu
• Microsoft Excel
• GIS and mapping tools
• Stormwater and utility design coordination platforms

Qualifications

We're looking for driven students who are eager to grow their professional skills, contribute to real-life, meaningful projects, and be a part of a talented team. The following qualifications will help you succeed in this role: 

• Currently enrolled as a junior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Interested in land development, infrastructure, or site design
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communicator and collaborative team player
• Eager to learn in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary AEC environment

Work Location

This is an onsite position based out of the following Core States Group offices: Kent, WA; Bellevue, WA; Puyallup, WA; Richland, WA; Roseville, CA; Scottsdale, AZ; Frisco, TX; Bentonville, AR; or Philadelphia, PA.
