On-Call Housekeeper

St. Francis Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented On-Call Housekeeper to join our team. The Housekeeper plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Pay Rate: $17.00-$17.50 per hour
Position: On-Call

Position Overview

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility, including resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and other designated spaces. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has a positive attitude, and is committed to providing a safe and pleasant environment for our residents.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public and common areas, including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
• Clean and sanitize resident rooms and bathrooms according to facility standards.
• Wipe down handrails and other high-touch surfaces to keep them clean and free of dust and debris.
• Clean walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, dispensers, and other surfaces.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
• Follow all safety and infection-control procedures, including proper use of caution signage.
• Safely handle, store, and use cleaning chemicals and supplies according to manufacturer instructions and facility policies.
• Operate housekeeping equipment safely and properly.
• Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Report resident safety concerns or environmental hazards promptly to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when cleaning supplies or equipment need replenishment.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Manage time effectively and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Work independently and as part of a team to maintain facility cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience, particularly in a healthcare or long-term care setting, is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions, facility policies, and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, responsible, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service to residents.
