CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Registered Occupational Therapist, you will help support and promote the provision of quality patient care under the direction of Registered Occupational Therapist Supervisor. Actively provides Occupational Therapy services to patients/residents, including evaluation and assessment, treatment program planning and implementation, related documentation and communication. Provides direct supervision of COTAs, students, volunteers and aides. Assists in the development and implementation of new programs and groups.Every day you will respond to requests for service and initiates referrals when appropriate. Following screening to determine need for intervention. Assesses patients/residents to obtain and interpret data necessary for treatment planning and implementation per physician's orders. Interprets evaluation findings to patients/residents, family, significant others and care team.To be successful in this role, you must:Develop treatment plans, including goals and methods to achieve identified goals.Coordinate treatment plans with patients/residents, family, significant others and care team.Implement treatment directly or supervises treatment by a certified Occupational Therapy assistant and/or an Occupational Therapy aide.Evaluate appropriateness of the total services delivered and of individual Occupational Therapy programs for effectiveness and efficiency, using predetermined criteria.Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accuratelyEstablish and maintain effective working relationshipsKnowledge of the principles, practices, standards, and techniques of how to use and maintain Occupational Therapy equipmentKnowledge of safety and body mechanics to avoid injury to self or patientsSkill in writing reports, preparing correspondence, and keeping patient care recordsSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patient/residents, medical staff, and the public.Ability to evaluate utilization statistics and other dataAbility to communicate clearlyAbility to perform functions within established productivity standardsJob RequirementsRequiredTwo (2) or more years experience as a Registered Occupational TherapistCertification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB) or satisfaction of any current state legal requirementsCompetency as a general practitioner of Occupational Therapy as defined by AOTARegistered Occupation Therapist license (RG OT)Current and valid CPR-AHA certification (CT CPRBLS)PreferredMembership in the AOTAMarian Regional Medical Center, a 191-bed facility located in Santa Maria, California, is recognized as one of the Top 250 Hospitals in the Nation by Healthgrades and was awarded Best Maternity Care by Newsweek.
