Registered Nurse - Endoscopy/GI

Job Description

Job Summary:
The GI/Endo RN will provide specialized nursing care in endoscopy and gastrointestinal procedures. They will support diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout.

Responsibilities:

• Administer pre- and post-procedure patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Prepare and assist with a wide range of endoscopic procedures, including biopsies, dilations, and foreign body removals.
• Operate and troubleshoot endoscopy equipment such as scopes, fluoroscopy, and electrosurgical units.
• Follow infection control protocols and ensure high levels of disinfection and sterilization of instruments.
• Document procedural details, specimens, and patient responses accurately in electronic medical records.
• Restock supplies, set up procedure rooms, and assist with specimen handling and transport.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NY RN license with at least 1 year of GI/endoscopy nursing experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with EPIC charting and infection control standards.
• Possess BLS certification and strong skills in endoscopic and bedside procedures.
• Able to work independently within a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Capable of float coverage and adhering to universal protocols.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel a minimum of 50 miles from the current location.
