Pharmacy Technician (Per Diem)

Pharmacy TechnicianWe are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide essential support within our pharmacy department. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, pays close attention to detail, and is committed to ensuring patients receive medications safely and efficiently. The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist with day-to-day pharmacy operations, helping to maintain accurate and timely medication distribution. Responsibilities include completing medication orders, prepackaging medications, stocking and organizing inventory, verifying associated paperwork, and filling and labeling outpatient prescriptions. This position plays a key role in supporting pharmacy workflow, maintaining compliance with established procedures, and ensuring high-quality service for patients and healthcare providers.Key ResponsibilitiesAssists the Pharmacist with filling and labeling outpatient prescriptionsAssists patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription ordersEnters prescription orders into the computerCreates a profile of the patient's health and insurance information in the computer or updates the patient's profilePrepares medications and supplies for dispensing in a timely mannerCommunicates with providers and their agents to obtain refill authorizationCommunicates with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claimsVerifies the customer receives the correct prescriptionMaintains awareness of local, state, federal and company regulations related to pharmaceutical field.Assists with pharmacy inventory including maintaining regular inspections, controlling and auditing medicationsDelivers supplies and medication and driving pharmacy vehicle if neededPerforms all other duties as requiredRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED required.
