Adjunct Faculty/Medical Billing and Coding - WEOC Yonkers, NY Job Description The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking experienced, energetic, innovative, results oriented professionals to join its team. Located in Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional adult education institution provides tuition‑free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved adults seeking to develop basic academic and vocational skills competencies and credentials needed for enrollment in college and/or entry into the workforce. Responsibilities Seeking energetic and engaging Adjunct Faculty to teach Medical Billing and Coding classes. The incumbent will deliver a curriculum that prepares students to qualify for employment in entry‑level positions such as medical coder/biller, medical biller/customer service representative, medical records clerk/assistant, and insurance claims clerk. The incumbent will also: Prepare and update course materials to ensure alignment with current industry standards and certification requirements. Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to students and Program Administrator. Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment that addresses the diverse needs of students. In addition, the instructor will equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully pass a national billing and coding certification exam. Successful candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population and work effectively with students who have barriers to employment. Qualifications Required Qualifications The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master\'s Degree in the field to be taught from a recognized college or university and 1 year of practical experience. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required. The successful candidate will have the ability to establish a rapport with students and maintain an environment that supports learning and promotes student retention. Experience using an LMS is also required. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching adult learners and at‑risk populations strongly preferred. Highly organized and detail-oriented candidates are also strongly preferred. Additional Information Position Effective: Fall 2025 Work Schedule: Classes may be offered day or evening. Hourly Rate of Pay: The hourly rate of pay is $93.84. No benefits. This position is fully grant funded.
