Industrial Designer (Retail experience)

Job Title Technical Designer Location Hybrid or remote ok in NYC Employment Type W2 Contract Duration 4 – 5 weeks at minimum and possibility for full-time Rate $35-45/hr (DOE) Job Overview We are seeking an Industrial Designer to support retail experiences and store fixtures. This role is ideal for a highly technical designer with strong Rhino expertise and a deep understanding of fabrication drawing standards, construction methods, and material applications, especially wood-based sheet goods such as plywood and MDF. The right candidate will be able to create highly detailed technical, shop, and fabrication drawings, along with 3D Rhino models that clearly demonstrate how products are engineered and built. We’re looking for someone who can work with precision, produce organized drawing packages, and translate design concepts into fabrication‑ready documentation. Key Responsibilities Create detailed technical and fabrication drawings in Rhino Develop 3D Rhino models to support engineering and fabrication execution Produce drawing sets with strong attention to layout, clarity, detail, and aesthetics Work extensively with wood-based materials including plywood, MDF, and similar sheet goods Collaborate with the team on project‑based freelance assignments Support design development with a practical understanding of how products are manufactured Qualifications Advanced proficiency in Rhino Strong portfolio of Rhino‑based technical, shop, or fabrication drawings Experience creating detailed drawing packages for fabrication Demonstrated knowledge of engineering products for production and build Experience working with wood-based sheet goods and related fabrication methods Ability to estimate hours and manage drawing production efficiently Available for freelance hourly project work, with potential for full‑time conversion if successful #J-18808-Ljbffr 24 Seven Talent
