Position Overview:

 

Adventist Health White Memorial is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery to provide exceptional, patient-centered care within the Labor & Delivery Float Pool. The RN will deliver comprehensive nursing care throughout the labor and delivery process while collaborating with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatal specialists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Candidates must be comfortable floating within the Labor & Delivery Float Pool and providing safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and immediate postpartum care.
• Perform thorough maternal and fetal assessments and continuously monitor patient status.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and modify individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor fetal heart tracings, uterine contractions, and maternal responses throughout labor.
• Assist physicians during labor, vaginal deliveries, emergency situations, and obstetric procedures.
• Recognize and respond rapidly to maternal or fetal emergencies using evidence-based nursing interventions.
• Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant electronic medical documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, neonatal teams, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Supervise and delegate patient care activities appropriately while maintaining compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety initiatives.
• Float as assigned within the Labor & Delivery Float Pool to meet patient care needs.

• Night Shift
• 12-Hour Shifts
• 36 Hours per Week
• 3 Shifts per Week

• 13-Week Travel Assignment

   

Requirements

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery acute care experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• BLS Certification – Required.
• ACLS Certification – Required.
