Job Title: Inventory Coordinator Job Description

The Inventory Coordinator oversees and manages assigned inventories across multiple departments within a large distribution center. This role maintains accurate inventory records, performs regular counts, and ensures that tools and parts are readily available and properly organized for the maintenance team and other internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned inventories for different departments and ensure accurate stock levels at all times.
• Conduct periodic inventory counts to verify quantities and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
• Adjust inventory quantities, locations, and records as needed to correct discrepancies and maintain data integrity.
• Identify and classify parts, including both electrical and mechanical components, to ensure proper organization and tracking.
• Track parts usage to support maintenance activities and to anticipate replenishment needs.
• Locate parts efficiently within the warehouse or tool cage area to support timely internal requests.
• Create and maintain inventory logs that document movements, usage, adjustments, and counts.
• Establish and update minimum and maximum quantity levels for tools and parts to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
• Separate and organize inventory by equipment manufacturer to simplify identification and retrieval.
• Use scan-based methods and related tools to record inventory movements and update system information.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tools within the cage area, ensuring items are available and in the correct location for the maintenance team.
• Deliver tools and parts within the facility using carts or bikes when needed to support operations.
• Operate sit-down forklifts, including gas or electric Hyster brand equipment, to move and handle materials as required.
• Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Content Management Systems (CMS) and adapt to the specific system used at the facility.
• Support shipping, receiving, and general material handling activities related to inventory control.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in inventory control and inventory management within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Ability to conduct accurate inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies in quantities, locations, and records.
• Strong ability to identify and differentiate electrical and mechanical parts.
• Experience tracking parts usage and maintaining detailed inventory logs.
• Ability to create and manage minimum and maximum quantity levels for inventory items.
• Competence in separating and organizing inventory by equipment manufacturer.
• Comfort using scan-based methods and related inventory tracking tools.
• Experience with warehouse inventory operations, including tool crib or cage environments.
• Ability to operate a sit-down forklift, including gas or electric Hyster brand equipment, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Experience in material handling, shipping and receiving, and general warehouse operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in an Inventory Coordinator or similar role within a large distribution center.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Content Management Systems (CMS), with willingness to train on the specific platform used.
• Ability to use carts or bikes to deliver tools and parts across the facility when needed.
• Background in tool crib operations and maintaining tool inventories for maintenance teams.
• Adaptability to learn new systems, processes, and equipment as required by the facility.

Work Environment

The role is based in a distribution center of over 3 million square feet, providing a large-scale, fast-paced warehouse environment. You will primarily work in and around a tool cage area, supporting the maintenance team and internal departments. The position involves regular movement throughout the facility, including using carts or bikes to deliver tools and parts and operating sit-down forklifts, such as gas or electric Hyster brand equipment, for material handling. You will use scan-based methods and Warehouse Management Systems or Content Management Systems, with training provided on the specific technology used. Shifts and schedule are aligned with distribution center operations and may involve working across different areas of the facility as inventory needs arise.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Moreno Valley, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
