Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking ABEM/AOBEM Emergency Medicine Physicians for a substantial long-term locum tenens opportunity in Harker Heights, Texas , beginning September 30, 2026 .

This is a 6+ month need offering approximately 15 shifts per month across day, swing, and night coverage. Physicians will practice in a Level IV Trauma Center Emergency Department seeing approximately 43,700 annual visits , with an established physician + APC staffing model and Epic EMR.

Available Shifts

• 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• 12:00 PM–10:00 PM

Coverage is needed across days, swings, and nights , giving physicians multiple ways to build their monthly schedule.

Practice Environment

Physicians provide comprehensive Emergency Medicine care within a 17-bed ED averaging more than 43,000 visits annually .

The clinical scope includes:

• Adult and pediatric emergencies
• Trauma evaluation and stabilization
• Cardiac and neurologic emergencies
• Critical illness and resuscitation
• Medical and surgical emergencies
• Orthopedic injuries
• Emergency procedures
• Diagnostic evaluation and disposition
• Collaboration with and supervision of APCs

Documentation is completed in Epic .

Candidate Requirements

• MD or DO
• Emergency Medicine residency trained
• ABEM or AOBEM Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Board Eligible candidates must be within 5 years of eligibility
• Active Texas medical license required
• 1–3+ years of Emergency Medicine experience
• Comfortable supervising APCs
• Available for day, swing and/or night coverage
• ATLS documentation as required by facility policy

Family Medicine and Internal Medicine-trained physicians are not accepted for this opportunity.

Licensing & Credentialing

Candidates must already hold an active Texas medical license before entering the process.

• Pending Texas licenses cannot be processed
• Temporary/emergency privileges are not available
• Full privileging averages approximately 90 days

Given the September 30 target, qualified physicians should begin credentialing as early as possible.
