Backend Software Engineer, SDK

Responsibilities
- Develop and improve SDKs for supported platforms.
- Implement features focused on customer performance, concurrency, resiliency, quality, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams on major feature implementation and releases.
- Maintain LaunchDarkly’s open-source SDK repositories.
- Identify improvements, advocate for best practices, and contribute to technology and product decisions.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience building libraries and packages used by other developers.
- A polyglot programming background and ability to switch between languages quickly.
- At least five years of experience with at least two of .NET, Go, Ruby, Python, Node.js, and Java.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and production-ready coding experience.
- Strong testing experience with unit, integration, load, and benchmark tests.
- Experience contributing to open-source software.
- Experience with C++, Erlang, Haskell, Lua, AI SDKs, observability SDKs, or mobile development is a plus.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, solve difficult problems, and work independently when needed.
