Dental AssistantResponsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials before each patient appointment.
• Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Take and develop dental X-rays as permitted by state regulations and office protocols.
• Maintain proper infection control, sterilization, and OSHA standards.
• Provide patients with clear, compassionate support before, during, and after treatment.
• Take and accurately record patient information, medical histories, and treatment notes.
• Keep treatment rooms clean, organized, and fully stocked.
• Prepare instruments, materials, and equipment needed for scheduled procedures.
• Assist with patient flow, including seating patients, preparing them for treatment, and transitioning rooms efficiently.
• Support front-office and administrative duties when needed, including scheduling, confirmations, and patient communication.
• Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs before items run out.
• Follow all office policies, safety procedures, and clinical protocols.
• Maintain a professional, positive, and respectful attitude with patients and team members.

Schedule Expectations

• Arrive on time and be ready to work before the first scheduled patient.
• Review the day's schedule and prepare rooms, instruments, and materials in advance.
• Remain attentive and available throughout the scheduled workday.
• Help keep appointments running on time by anticipating the dentist's needs and preparing for the next patient.
• Communicate promptly with the dentist and team regarding delays, schedule changes, or patient concerns.
• Complete closing duties, sterilization, room turnover, and restocking before leaving.
• Maintain reliable attendance and provide as much notice as possible for unavoidable absences or schedule conflicts.

• The dentist has the instruments, materials, and support needed without unnecessary delays.
