Position Details Home daily Schedule: Monday – Friday Pay: $70,000 – $75,000 average annual pay Position Purpose Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers! The CDL‑A Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intra‑state and inter‑state local, over‑the‑road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive‑and‑drop routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading food and food‑related products to customers in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Primary Responsibilities Communicate and interact with customers, vendors and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Function as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company. Perform all required safety checks, including pre‑ and post‑trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations, and ensure vehicles meet company safety standards. Report all safety issues and/or repairs required. Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately report all safety hazards and inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight. Perform a count check of items and verify customer invoices of products that have been loaded. Complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly. Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed. Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule. Unload products from the trailer, transporting items into designated customer storage areas. Conduct damage control checks on items, scan as required, and contact supervisor about removing orders in accordance with company policy. Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures. Collect money (cash or checks) where required, load customer returns onto the trailer, and secure trailer doors. Ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured. Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bring them to the driver check‑in area, and complete necessary paperwork. Unload all equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers as required. Complete the daily record of hours of service and enter it in the log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements. Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 12+ months of commercial driving experience Valid CDL‑A Must be 21+ years of age Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable) Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check Pass road test Attain or have a valid current DOT Health Card and/or be able to secure a new DOT Health Card Be able to hand‑lift and utilize a two‑wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout the shift; product generally ranges from between 10–35 pounds and up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location Compensation & Benefits Pay: $70,000 – $75,000 average annual pay Day 1 Health & Wellness Benefits, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K Employer Matching, Education Assistance, Paid Time Off, and more.
