Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Seattle, Washington.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/26/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 26, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital requiring telemetry proficiency and 2+ years of MICU experience.Details\n \n ICU unit (7MB MCICU Med/CORICU) within a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital\n Patient population is 70% medical (sepsis, PNA, ARDS, organ failure, DKA) and 30% cardiology (heart failure, post-arrest, arrhythmias)\n Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM\n Patient ratios are 1:2 on days and 1:3 on nights\n Every other weekend required\n No on-call responsibilities\n Floating required within scope to other ICU units and boarder areas\n Uses Epic EMR and Pyxis medication system\n Requirements\n \n Active WA or compact RN license required\n Current BLS and ACLS certifications required\n Must pass a telemetry/EKG interpretation exam demonstrating proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management\n Minimum 2 years of solid MICU experience required\n Level I and Level II Trauma experience required\n Prior travel nurse experience preferred\n Required skills include ventilator management, telemetry, and conscious sedation\n Proficiency with arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, IV therapy, and blood product administration required\n Experience with continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips required\n Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required\n IV insulin protocol experience required\n Epic charting experience required\n Preferred skills include IV starts, ICP monitoring, PA lines/Swan Ganz, Impella, IABP, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, and CVVHD/CRRT\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct ICU nursing care to a mixed medical and cardiology critical care population\n Solid color scrubs permitted, with light blue scrubs also provided on unit\n COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions\n Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction\n RTO should be kept to a minimum and cannot be requested during orientation week\n Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler\n Experienced first-time travelers may be considered with strong clinical background, subject to manager screening\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-761337.
