Responsibilities

• Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapies and adjust as needed
• Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy, monitor patient responses, and maintain accurate records
• Draw arterial blood gases per policy and physician orders
• Provide care to ventilated patients, including ventilator management under supervision
• Document care in the electronic medical record and complete charges/flow sheets as required
• Support department operations and participate in training or supervision of new staff as delegated

Requirements

• Licensure and credentials: NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT credential required; Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required in CA
• Certifications: Current CPR/BLS certification; ACLS required; NRP/PALS/PEARS preferred; AHA-ACL S or ARC-ALS required
• Documentation and EMR: Must have current Epic experience
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required or preferred (Master’s degree preferred)
• Experience: At least two years of recent respiratory therapy experience; three years technical experience preferred
• Additional state requirement: Current nursing license per the state of assignment
