Do we have your attention? Keep reading. Modern Packaging is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to develop, design, and implement new product designs of automated machinery. Candidate shall have the ability to create new designs, modify existing designs, and provide technical support to customers. The position is located at our Deer Park, NY location and will report to the Director of Engineering. Are you excited about this work? Engineering, design, and fabrication of automated machinery Develop machine drawings, 3D modeling, assembly and detail drawings. Manage projects from quote to FAT (Factory Acceptance Test). Interface with manufacturing to ensure parts are properly fabricated, machined, and assembled. This will include updating revisions to mechanical design specifications/drawings. Interface with assembly department to conduct machine testing and proper operation. Interface with other departments e.g., controls, parts, purchasing, etc., to coordinate work/projects and ensure customer on‑time delivery. Create and maintain Bill of Materials. Base Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000 If this sounds like you, we want to connect! Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSME or BSMET), or similar engineering or technical degree from an accredited four‑year college or university or equivalent industry experience in mechanical design required. 3+ years’ experience in design of automated industrial machinery. Experience using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks. General knowledge of manufacturing processes, techniques, and practices. Strong analytical skills, ability to utilize knowledge to provide creative design ideas. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desire to be hands‑on with equipment building & design, ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
