We're searching for a detail-oriented Sample Management Technician to join our environmental lab team in Conroe, TX .

In this role, you'll handle the intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making. From logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to overseeing storage and distribution, your work ensures accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across the lab.

What You'll Do

• Receive and document samples from clients, couriers, shipping, laboratory, and/or field staff
• Check samples for proper condition, labeling, preservation, and documentation
• Reviewchain-of-custody paperwork and identify missing or incorrect information
• Enter sample details, testing requests, and other information into LIMS
• Label, organize, and route samples to the correct laboratory departments
• Keep track of where samples are, where they need to go, and when they need to get there
• Maintain organized sample storage areas and handle sample retrieval and disposal
• Prepare sample kits, containers, and supplies for field teams and clients
• Prepare and coordinate outbound sample shipments
• Help manage inventory and keep laboratory supplies stocked and ready
• Work closely with laboratory teams to help keep sample flow moving efficiently
• Maintain accurate records and follow laboratory quality, safety, and compliance procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field preferred
• Previous work experience in data entry, administrative, clerical, sample handling, or laboratory support roles
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and organization
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other basic computer applications; LIMS experience is a plus

Work Schedule & Travel

• Full-time, onsite position
• Ability to work beyond standard hours, including evenings or weekends, as operational needs require
