We are looking for an accomplished finance leader to support a mission-driven global nonprofit in Washington, District of Columbia. This Long-term Contract position calls for someone who can guide financial strategy while remaining closely engaged in daily operations and decision-making. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in large nonprofit environments, with particular strength in planning, revenue accounting, grant oversight, and forward-looking financial management. Exposure to international operations and nonprofit financial leadership credentials would be valuable in this role.

Responsibilities:
• Direct financial planning activities, including budgeting cycles, multi-scenario forecasting, and performance analysis that supports organizational decision-making.
• Oversee revenue recognition practices to ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with applicable accounting standards.
• Lead grant-related financial management by monitoring restricted funding, preparing reports for funders, and supporting compliance requirements.
• Provide hands-on leadership across day-to-day finance operations while also advising executive stakeholders on strategic financial matters.
• Develop and refine annual and periodic forecasts to help leadership assess risks, opportunities, and resource allocation priorities.
• Partner with internal teams to translate programmatic and funding activity into clear financial insights and actionable recommendations.
• Strengthen financial controls, reporting processes, and operational discipline across a complex nonprofit environment.
• Support selected organizational finance functions beyond core planning and reporting needs, based on business priorities and team capacity.• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles with significant responsibility for organizational financial performance.
• Demonstrated success in nonprofit organizations with annual revenue above $100M.
• Strong expertise in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecast development.
• Proven experience with revenue recognition and grant financial reporting in donor-supported environments.
• Background working in organizations funded primarily through donors, philanthropy, or major grants.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in daily finance operations.
• A finance or accounting credential is strongly preferred, though not required.
• International finance experience is a plus.
