Position Details Institution: University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Department: COM | Peds Kids First Warren Closing Date: 06/13/2026 Type of Position: Clinical Staff - Nursing Job Type: Temporary (Fixed Term) Sponsorship Available: No Location: Warren, AR Job Summary The Registered Nurse (PRN) provides clinical nursing care for children enrolled in local KIDS FIRST clinics and serves as a clinical resource for clinic staff. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate’s degree, Nursing diploma, Bachelor’s in Nursing, or Master’s in Nursing Valid RN License Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nursing experience or 2 years of clinical nursing experience Preferred Qualifications BSN or MSN with three (3) or more years of nursing experience Pediatric Care experience Current BLS Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent communication skills Basic computer skills Strong work ethics and accountability Responsibilities Implements the nursing process to manage patient care problems of a complex and changing nature as demonstrated by documentation and observation Assumes accountability and responsibility for all aspects of care for the assigned group of patients, with respect for developmental level and age‑specific issues Administers medications and treatments and performs procedures according to UAMS and KIDS FIRST policies Evaluates children to identify signs of illness or injury and intervenes appropriately Maintains current and accurate records and ensures confidentiality Teaching/learning needs of patients and families are identified, addressed, and documented Acts as a resource for staff in the areas of health, safety, and infection control Assumes responsibility for acquiring knowledge and experience to meet professional goals Develops and maintains close working relationships with the clinic director, the Medical Director, nursing managers, the clinic nurse, and other team members Actively works with contacts to coordinate care and promote referrals to the program Collaborates with KIDS FIRST staff, PCPs, UAMS resources, and others to implement and revise plan of care as needed Provides employment documentation such as annual TB screening, CPR/nursing license renewal verification, etc., promptly Performs other duties as assigned Salary Information $38.00/hour Required Documents to Apply License or Certificate, Proof of Veteran Status, Resume Pre-employment Screening Requirements Adult Maltreatment Child Maltreatment Criminal Background Check FBI Background Check Sex Offender Registry Physical Activity Constant: Feeling, Hearing, Talking Frequent: Balancing, Climbing, Crawling, Crouching, Grasping, Kneeling, Lifting, Manipulate items with fingers, including keyboarding, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Repetitive Motion, Standing, Walking Occasional: Sitting Recruitment Contact View email address on click.appcast.io Legal & EEO Statements The University of Arkansas is an equal opportunity institution.
