Company Description Highland Lumber & Mill is a wholesale supplier of industrial softwood, hardwood lumber, plywood, and laminated panels serving Southern California and North Idaho since 1991. As a direct importer, the company offers competitive pricing and reliable supply to distributors, dealers, and OEM manufacturers. A key differentiator is its onsite private mill and lamination line, enabling custom milling, ripping, resawing, surfacing, sanding, priming, blanking, and finishing services. Highland Lumber & Mill also provides in-house HPL and paper/vinyl lamination for cabinetry, furniture, and millwork manufacturers, along with will-call, delivery, and tailored lumber program solutions. Role Description The Industrial Sales Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in Anaheim, CA, focused on selling industrial lumber, plywood, and laminated panel products to distributors, dealers, and manufacturers. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and qualifying new leads, managing existing accounts, and conducting in-person and phone-based sales activities. The role involves preparing quotes, negotiating pricing and terms, and coordinating with operations and mill staff to ensure accurate orders, on-time delivery, and program execution. The Industrial Sales Representative will maintain detailed records in CRM or sales tracking systems, monitor market trends, and collaborate with management on sales strategies and promotional initiatives. This position also requires periodic visits to customer facilities and participation in product training to stay current on mill capabilities and new offerings. Qualifications Strong Sales skills with experience in industrial or B2B environments, including prospecting, account management, and negotiation. Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Communication abilities to build long-term customer relationships and collaborate with internal teams. Demonstrated Customer Service skills focused on responsiveness, problem-solving, and supporting customer production needs. Experience with Training customers or colleagues on product features, applications, and program details is beneficial. Knowledge of lumber, plywood, laminated panels, or related building materials is preferred. Ability to work on-site in Anaheim, CA and visit customer locations as needed. Proficiency with basic computer tools and CRM or sales management systems. Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple accounts, quotes, and follow-ups. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, sales, or related fields is a plus.
