Kern County Neurological Medical Group is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible neurologist to join our established, physician-led outpatient practice in Bakersfield, California. Founded in 1977, KCNMG has served patients throughout Kern County for nearly five decades. We are expanding our physician team to meet continued community demand and are looking for a neurologist interested in building a rewarding clinical practice with opportunities for long-term growth, leadership, and partnership. We welcome general neurologists as well as physicians with fellowship training or clinical interests in headache medicine, epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology, neuromuscular medicine, cognitive neurology, or movement disorders. Recent residency and fellowship graduates are also encouraged to apply. Opportunity Highlights Primarily outpatient neurology practice Established referral network and existing patient demand Partnership-track opportunity General neurology or subspecialty-focused practice Opportunity to develop and grow a clinical niche Experienced clinical and administrative support team Optional hospital and call opportunities based on physician interest Leadership opportunities within a growing independent practice New graduates and recent fellows welcome Relocation assistance and sign‑on bonus may be available Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a broad range of neurological conditions Develop individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans Provide ongoing outpatient neurological care and follow‑up Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, referring providers, and community partners Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation Participate in quality‑improvement and practice‑development initiatives Help support the continued growth of neurological services within Kern County The position may be tailored to incorporate a physician’s training and interests, including general neurology, headache medicine, epilepsy, neuromuscular medicine, clinical neurophysiology, cognitive and memory disorders, or movement disorders. Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Completion of an accredited neurology residency program Board certified or board eligible in Neurology Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted California medical license Eligible for or currently holding a valid DEA registration Strong clinical judgment and commitment to high‑quality, patient‑centered care Effective communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications Experience performing electrodiagnostic studies (EMG/NCS) Experience interpreting routine and ambulatory EEGs Interest or experience in pediatric neurology is welcomed but not required Compensation and Growth Starting base salary: $300,000–$350,000 annually Placement within the range will be based on experience, fellowship or subspecialty training, qualifications, and anticipated scope of practice.
