Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours per Week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 28-bed emergency department with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage and treat patients presenting with high-acuity diagnoses including chest pain, shortness of breath, trauma, CVA, sepsis, CHF, and COVID
• Perform and assist with advanced procedures including intubation, chest tubes, and dislocations
• Administer and monitor common emergency medications including analgesics, antiemetics, bronchodilators, and IV fluids
• Operate specialized equipment including the Belmont rapid infuser
• Collaborate with teleneurology services for stroke and neurological patient management

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Minimum Level II or Level III emergency department experience
• Must pass required competency exams prior to start (two attempts allowed; failure on second attempt results in pre-start cancellation)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing trauma, sepsis, CVA, CHF, and COVID patients in an emergency setting
• Familiarity with teleneurology workflows and stroke protocols
• Proficiency with rapid infuser equipment such as the Belmont device
