Elementary Teacher

DeKalb County Schools Expecting More Today.... Educating for Tomorrow POSITION TITLE: Teacher - Elementary QUALIFICATIONS: * Minimum B.S. Degree: Certification in Elementary Education. * Meets requirements set forth by federal regulations. * Working knowledge of computers and software. REPORTS TO: * Principal or Principal's designee SUPERVISES: * Students RESPONSIBILITIES: * Determine individual and class needs. * Establish objectives and plan learning experiences. * Implement activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives. * Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere. * Exhibit positive human relations skills. * Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication. * Evaluate the educational program and/or student progress. * Communicate with parents/guardians, colleagues and community groups. * Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication. * Maintain and submit records and reports. * Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy and state and federal rules and regulations. * Engage in personal and professional growth and demonstrate professional ethics and leadership. * Implement the planning and conduct of daily learning activities within the classroom as defined by the State Course of Study and the Board of Education. * Shall perform any other position related duties as assigned. * Maintain the confidentiality of student records. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: * Salary and work year to be in accordance with the current applicable salary schedule. EVALUATION: * Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy of Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
