Technical Support & Electronics Repair Technician

Job Description

Job Description

Like taking things apart and figuring out how they work?

Pro Church Lights is looking for a hands-on problem solver to help customers troubleshoot lighting equipment, complete repairs, and keep support requests moving from the first call to the final solution.

You don’t need a degree or previous professional repair experience. You do need technical curiosity, strong follow-through, and patience when helping someone who may know much less about technology than you do.

If you enjoy repairing electronics, building computers, soldering, wiring, or fixing things others would replace, we’d like to hear from you.

What you’ll do:

Help customers and own their support tickets

• Answer support calls, emails, and texts with clear, helpful, timely responses.
• Walk customers through troubleshooting one step at a time.
• Ask good questions, identify the root cause, and work toward a solution.
• Own each support ticket from the initial request through resolution, including follow-ups and coordination with other team members.
• Keep customer details, troubleshooting notes, next steps, and repair status current across our tracking systems.
• Coordinate warranty cases, returns, repairs, and replacement shipments according to company procedures.
• Keep customers informed so they know what happens next.

Diagnose and repair equipment

• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot lighting fixtures and related electronics.
• Follow a logical process to find the cause of a problem rather than guessing or replacing parts at random.
• Complete repairs, replace components, and test equipment before it goes back to the customer.
• Perform hands-on wiring, soldering, and small assembly projects, including relay assemblies, following appropriate procedures.
• Document what failed, what was repaired, and the results of testing.

Improve our support resources

• Use our manuals, videos, and guides to help customers solve problems.
• Create and update simple troubleshooting guides, repair instructions, and step-by-step resources when new issues are discovered.
• Flag recurring problems so we can improve our products, instructions, and customer experience.

Help in the warehouse when needed

• Periodically assist with unloading trucks, receiving inventory, and moving products.
• Pack and ship equipment using our shipping system.
• Help keep repair and warehouse areas organized.

Customer support, troubleshooting, and repairs are the main focus of this position. Warehouse assistance is an occasional but required part of the role.

Who would be a good fit?

You are someone who:

• Enjoys figuring out why something doesn’t work.
• Can break a complicated problem into clear, manageable steps.
• Is comfortable opening equipment and working with tools and electronic components.
• Can explain technical instructions in simple language without making someone feel embarrassed.
• Is comfortable spending part of the day on the phone and responding to written support requests.
• Stays organized, follows up, and finishes what you start.
• Can manage several open cases without losing track of the next step.
• Knows when to ask for help and follows safe repair practices.
• Is available to work full-time on-site in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Helpful experience—but not required

Personal projects, hobbies, school projects, and volunteer experience all count. Relevant interests might include:

• Electronics repair, soldering, or wiring.
• Computer building and troubleshooting.
• Audio, video, stage lighting, or church production.
• Customer service or technical support.
• Shipping, receiving, or warehouse work.
