Details Hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit Patient population includes higher oxygen demand, dialysis, afib, and post heart cath patients Step-down from ICU with no vents or pressor support; drips managed include heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotolol initiation Telemetry monitoring required Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need Floating to other similar units may be required based on census needs 1:6 patient ratio EPIC EMR experience preferred Requirements Active TN or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a similar unit required Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required Community hospital experience preferred Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen administration, and ABG interpretation Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams Experience managing cardiac drips without titration Additional Information Provide direct patient care for cardiac and telemetry patients including monitoring, medication management, and emergency response Support patients recovering from cardiac catheterization, MI, and those with pacemakers Weekly Monday orientation and annual compliance training required Pre-assignment testing and required training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials First-time travelers will be considered based on relevant experience Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, unless otherwise specified by exception policies for certain specialties Night shift travelers in this specialty must live 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible American Traveler Job ID P-742622.
