Position Summary

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning, creating, and implementing online strategic marketing and communications initiatives that increase awareness of San José Clinic's mission, programs, fundraising efforts, and community impact. This position manages the Clinic's digital presence, develops compelling online content, supports donor communications, promotes special events, and strengthens engagement with patients, volunteers, donors, foundations, and community partners across the digital landscape.

The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with strong writing and design skills who is passionate about using digital communications to advance the mission of serving uninsured individuals and families. Candidates with need experience in analyzing data and developing actionable strategy and tactics.

Essential Responsibilities

Digital Marketing Strategy and Supporting Tactics

• Develop and implement an annual digital marketing strategy aligned with the      Clinic's strategic plan.
• Manage and update the Clinic's website to ensure current, accurate, and engaging      content, focused on writing for humans but optimizing for search and LLM’s
• Create and manage email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and proactive outreach      to donors, volunteers and other supporters.
• Monitor website, social media, email, search, and other digital analytics and      recommend improvements to increase engagement and online visibility.
• Support search engine optimization (SEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO).
• Develop and implement plan to leverage paid digital options to grow awareness      among key core audiences. 

Social Media

• Manage the Clinic's social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other appropriate channels.
• Develop a monthly content calendar highlighting patient stories, community partnerships, fundraising initiatives, volunteers, providers, and organizational milestones.
• Capture photos and videos at Clinic events and community outreach activities.
• Monitor engagement and respond to comments in coordination with leadership.

Communications & Public Relations

• Write and edit news releases, bylined articles, newsletters, annual reports, speeches, talking points, and organizational announcements.
• Coordinate media inquiries and assist with public relations opportunities.
• Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels.
• Develop marketing materials including brochures, flyers, presentations, and  digital content.

Fundraising & Development Support

• Collaborate with the President & CEO and Development team to promote fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship activities, and special events.
• Support all events through marketing, invitations, sponsorship materials, event communications, and digital promotion.
• Assist in creating donor impact stories, videos, and recognition materials.
• Help maintain a consistent communication schedule with donors and community partners.

Community Engagement

• Promote community outreach programs, health education events, volunteer opportunities, and partnerships.
• Coordinate communication efforts with partner organizations, universities, foundations, and faith communities.

Branding & Graphic Design

• Ensure all marketing materials reflect the Clinic's brand standards and mission.
• Design digital and print materials using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.
• Maintain a library of approved logos, templates, photos, and marketing assets.

Analytics & Reporting

• Track key performance indicators, including website traffic, email engagement,      social media growth, and campaign performance.
• Prepare      monthly reports with recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital      Media, or a related field preferred.

Experience

• Three to five years of experience in digital marketing, communications, public      relations, or nonprofit marketing.
• Healthcare or nonprofit experience preferred but not required. Experience in managing social media platforms and website content management systems. [CF2] .
• Experience  with digital marketing tools such as Hootsuite, GA4, SEMRush, Canva, Mail      Chimp, Moz, Constant Contact expected.

Knowledge & Skills

• Excellent      written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong      storytelling and content development abilities.
• Graphic      design experience using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Photography      and basic video editing skills preferred.
• Familiarity      with Google Analytics and social media analytics.
• Strong      organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects      simultaneously.
• Ability      to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, community partners, and      vendors.

Physical Requirements

• Ability      to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.
• Occasional      lifting of up to 25 pounds.
• Ability  to attend evening or weekend events as needed.
