Senior ServiceNow Developer

Job Summary:

The Senior ServiceNow Developer will play a crucial role in the development, administration, and enhancement of the ServiceNow platform for a large public-sector education organization. This position involves configuring and maintaining multiple ServiceNow modules to support district-wide business processes, ensuring scalable, secure, and user-centered solutions that align with operational priorities. Responsibilities:

• Serve as primary administrator for the ServiceNow instance, managing daily operations and maintenance.
• Configure and maintain ServiceNow applications including forms, lists, workflows, notifications, and reporting.
• Support development and enhancement across multiple modules such as ITSM, HRSD, and Source-to-Pay (S2P).
• Design and maintain Service Catalog items and end-to-end workflows using Flow Designer.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Coordinate with the Office of the Chief Technology Officer for development, changes, and support.
• Ensure adherence to ServiceNow best practices, prioritizing configuration over customization.
• Troubleshoot platform issues, resolve defects, and continuously improve service delivery processes.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including configuration details and user guidance.
• Partner with internal IT teams, vendors, and ServiceNow partners as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of hands-on ServiceNow administration experience with ownership or co-ownership of a ServiceNow instance.
• Strong foundational knowledge of ServiceNow platform components: forms, lists, tables, dictionary configuration, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, roles, ACLs, update sets, and platform administration.
• Proficiency in JavaScript for ServiceNow scripting (business rules, client scripts, UI policies).
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent ITSM process knowledge.
• Experience working in public sector, K 12 education, or other highly regulated environments.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
• Experience with ServiceNow application areas such as ITSM, HRSD, S2P, Customer Service Management (CSM), or Security Operations (SecOps).
• Experience building or supporting system integrations using REST APIs, Integration Hub, and data imports.

Special Considerations:

• Absences greater than two weeks must be approved in advance by management with contact information provided.
• Compliance with strict vendor and contractual terms including no reimbursable expenses and hourly rate limits.
• Agreement to terms and conditions of the supplier agreement is required.

Scheduling:

• Full-time position supporting ongoing ServiceNow platform development and maintenance.
• On-site interviews required; work location within a public school district environment.
