Senior Risk Manager

New River Electrical Corporation, an employee-owned leader in high-voltage substations and transmission, seeks a Senior Risk Manager to own enterprise and project risk across multi-region utility projects. This role designs and leads risk frameworks, quantifies operational, safety, contract, and financial exposures, and partners with project managers, safety, and executive leadership to implement controls. Responsibilities include risk identification, mitigation planning, incident trend analysis, insurance and contract risk review, compliance support, and clear reporting to leadership. Ideal candidates bring deep utility or large infrastructure risk experience and a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise and project-level risk frameworks for utility, substation, and transmission work
• Identify, assess, and quantify operational, safety, contract, and financial risks
• Develop and track mitigation plans with project managers and functional leaders
• Analyze incident and near-miss trends to drive preventative actions and safety improvements
• Review contracts and insurance requirements to manage and transfer risk appropriately
• Support compliance with NERC, OSHA, environmental, and customer standards
• Prepare clear risk dashboards, reports, and recommendations for executive leadership
• Facilitate risk workshops and training to build risk awareness and ownership across teams
• Coordinate risk input into bids, project planning, and change management processes
• Continuously improve risk tools, metrics, and processes across regions and business units
