Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 24 Months of Current Psych/Behavioral Health Experience License: Active Iowa License or Compact/Multistate Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - 24 months of Psych/Behavioral Health experience required. - EPIC experience required. - Charge experience required. - De-escalation certificate preferred; can be obtained during onboarding. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in Behavioral Health. This position requires working with geriatric patients in a behavioral health setting. The nurse will be responsible for providing care and support to patients with psych/behavioral issues. Patients may range in age from adolescents to geriatric. There is a potential for on-call duties as needed. Holidays and weekends will be part of the work schedule, with a requirement to work 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. Candidates must provide a work history demonstrating relevant experience. A professional reference is preferred but not mandatory. The role will include managing patient care and ensuring a safe environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role. The candidate should be prepared to work in a team-oriented environment. Support with de-escalation techniques will be necessary, and training may be provided. This position may require additional certifications that can be obtained during onboarding.
