Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12 hours, from 06:45 to 19:15, including Saturday work shifts.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in a busy, high acuity academic environment, particularly in Neuro, Spine, Thoracic, and Vascular specialties. This role involves circulating and assisting in various surgical procedures, with a focus on orthopedic sports, minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general surgery, GYN, URO, and plastics.

Responsibilities

• Circulate in multiple specialty areas including GYN, General, URO, Plastics, OTO, Robotics, Ortho, Neuro, Spine, Thoracic, and Transplant.
• Ensure compliance with Universal Protocol (Time out) procedures.
• Administer medications and provide direct patient care during surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Maintain a sterile environment and assist in the preparation and organization of surgical instruments and equipment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an operating room setting.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Prior charge experience is preferred.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
