We are seeking a Caf Assistant & Cashier to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations.

The Caf Assistant & Cashier plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service within a healthcare and social assistance environment. This position is responsible for managing daily caf operations, ensuring a welcoming and hygienic atmosphere for members, visitors, and staff. The role requires handling cash transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with health and safety standards. The Caf Assistant & Cashier will collaborate closely with kitchen and service staff to provide timely food and beverage service that meets dietary and nutritional guidelines. Ultimately, this role contributes to a positive experience for all caf patrons, supporting the overall mission of the healthcare facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a customer service or food service role.
• Basic calculation experience and handling cash transactions.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or equivalent.
• Experience working in a healthcare or social assistance environment.
• Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe).
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse customer base.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver excellent customer service by greeting guests warmly, processing transactions accurately, and addressing inquiries or concerns professionally.
• Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with established health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the caf area, including dining spaces, counters, and equipment.
• Support inventory management by restocking supplies and promptly reporting shortages or issues to management.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient caf operations and a positive customer experience within the healthcare facility.
