Cavanaugh Eye Center is looking for a Medical Receptionist (Patient Coordinator) in Overland Park, KS. This role offers a full benefits package, 401k with employer matching, paid time off, paid holidays, paid maternity leave, competitive base pay, and employee discounts.

The office is open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6pm. Your shift will fall within these hours, and you may need to work a little earlier or later as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a favorable background check, basic computer skills, strong customer service skills, and a willingness to learn and grow.

Essential functions include facilitating patient flow, verifying medical and vision insurances, effectively communicating with patients, doctors, and managers, and answering inquiries through phone, email, and in person requests.

A Patient Coordinator acts as the first point of contact for our patients, setting the tone for the patient's visit through excellent patient care. This employee will also perform the necessary administrative responsibilities needed to create a smooth check-in/out experience for patients.

Essential duties and responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, answering phones, managing patient flow, knowledge of common fees, completing daily reconciliations, and general office duties and cleaning.

Qualifications include the ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner, a desire to gain industry knowledge and training, demonstrating initiative in accomplishing practice goals, ability to grow, adapt, and accept change, consistently creating a positive work environment, and commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business.

Education and/or experience requirements include a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Systems and technology proficiency includes Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Physical requirements include frequent walking, sitting, and standing, with regular bending, stooping, and reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items up to 25 lbs, strong fine motor skills, full use of hands, visual and auditory acuity, and occasional driving or climbing.
