The Secure Product Solutions (SPS) department is responsible for the design, test and certification of secure mission computers, cross domain technologies, and cryptographic products which equip our warfighters to thrive in today's multi-domain battlespace. Our department collaborates with portfolio teams across the organization to help capture new business and create security solutions that address our customers' demanding needs.

The Software Based Cross-Domain Solution within the SPS department is responsible for the development of an application that enables secure transition of data across security levels. The team is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to learn & help expand our CDS capabilities.

• Collaborate on System Requirements and Software Development by defining system requirements and translating them into detailed software requirements, UML/SysML models, and diagrams for a large-scale program
• Work closely with other software engineers and team members to ensure clear communication and collaboration, fostering a cohesive, solution-focused environment across multiple disciplines
• Collaborate with your team to maintain, enhance, and develop software that aligns with customer requirements and meets certification standards, ensuring both functionality and compliance
• Take responsibility for producing high-quality software implementations and integrating them within testing environments, ensuring the code is thoroughly tested and meets all specified requirements

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
• Experience with development tool sets, for example, Jira, Subversion/Git/Version Management
• Comfortable working with C, C++, Rust
• Security focused mindset

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with requirements analysis and requirements decomposition
• Experience working with embedded software
• Experience with virtualization
• Knowledge of microservices, containers and orchestrators
• Knowledge and/or experience with memory-safe applications (Ada or Rust)
• Experience with automated test environments (Python)
• Knowledge on DevSecOps and CI/CD
• Experience in Graphical User Interfaces with Java React framework, or similar frameworks like Swing or JavaFX Knowledge and Data Format Description Language (DFDL)
• Experience integrating/deploying software to hardware solution

• Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
