Job Summary and Responsibilities As our RN Procedural Perioperative (Periop), you will provide high-quality nursing services essential for supporting patients to achieve optimum health and safe passage through invasive or interventional procedures during episodic or series of visits. You will apply nursing practice across multiple dimensions to meet the unique needs of each patient and promote outcomes through effective nurse–patient collaboration. You will use the nursing process through skilled assessment, triage, education, collaboration, and coordination of healthcare and community resources to support patients during their procedural experience and toward an optimal level of wellness. Successful candidates will demonstrate clinical proficiency in procedural and perioperative/PACU environments, with strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered, safe, and effective care. Responsibilities Provide nursing care in procedural and perioperative settings, ensuring patient safety and comfort before, during, and after procedures. Assess patient condition, develop and implement care plans, and monitor outcomes in collaboration with the healthcare team. Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and post-procedure care. Coordinate care with physicians, technicians, and other professionals; facilitate resources to support continuity of care. Document accurately in the electronic medical record and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policies. Job Requirements Required Current Washington state licensure as an RN CPR certification is required every two years ACLS PALS (depending on location) Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing Completion of related residency program with minimum two years of experience in the area of care (OR, PACU) Strong patient assessment skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, current working knowledge of electronic medical records Preferred One year of experience in GI specialty Certification in related areas of care, such as OR or PACU Where Youll Work Virginia Mason Franciscan Health brings together two award-winning health systems in Washington state — CHI Franciscan and Virginia Mason.
