School Bus Driver

Education, Training, and Experience:

• Completion of twelfth grade or equivalent
• Successful completion of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) examination for school bus drivers
• One year of experience in the operation of a bus (Preferred)
• Must maintain knowledge of safe operation by attendance at assigned in-service training sessions/seminars

License Required:

• Valid California Driver's License
• CA Commercial Drivers' License Class A or B with PS Endorsement
• School Bus Certificate with 1 and 6 only restrictions
• Current medical card and DL-51
• Current First Aid
• Print out from DMV K4
• TO-1 Card
• Random drug pull as required by CHP

• Submit a current resume
• Submit three (3) current letters of recommendation

MUST submit verification of completion of the twelfth grade through diploma, high school transcripts or GED certificate upon hire; Successful completion of the California Highway Patrol examination for school bus drivers; One year of experience in the operation of a bus

• Certificate Copy (Current medical card and DL-51)
• Certification (School Bus Certificate with 1 and 6 only restrictions)
• DMV Printout (Print out from DMV K4)
• Letter(s) of Recommendation
• Other (TO-1 Card)
• Resume

Comments and Other Information:

Insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier; Pre-employment drug testing (DOT); Random drug test. Please note that this position has a minimum of 4 hours, with the potential for additional hours depending on the assigned route.
