Job Description
A Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems to ensure operational safety and compliance with codes and regulations. This role requires technical expertise in fire alarm components and systems, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.
Responsibilities
- Install fire alarm systems according to blueprints and technical specifications
- Perform routine inspections and testing of fire alarm equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning fire alarm devices and circuits
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and system status
- Ensure compliance with local fire codes and safety regulations
- Collaborate with contractors and facility personnel during installations and repairs
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergency repair requests
- Stay updated on fire alarm technologies and industry best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems
- Programming a plus
