Graduate Nurse Cardiac

Job Summary Pre‑licensure graduate of an accredited nursing program who actively participates in the SSM Health New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. Under the direction of a registered nurse, provides care to patients within the scope of role and professional standards. Responsible for the delivery of age‑appropriate care for assigned patients with a wide variety of medical conditions. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program Eligible to practice as determined by the state board of nursing Less than one year of experience working as an RN (no experience required) Responsibilities Performs delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence and receives training as appropriate. Conducts patient assessments including biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and age‑appropriate needs; evaluates signs of abuse or neglect; develops, evaluates, and modifies patient plans of care. Develops realistic, comprehensive patient and family education plans; provides health education and coaching. Completes accurate and timely documentation, processes physician orders, and ensures adherence to policies and procedures. Monitors and evaluates nursing care delivered by team members. Collaborates with physicians and other health‑care professionals regarding all aspects of patient care. Participates in required training and competency assessments; seeks assistance and asks questions to learn and understand the role. Demonstrates professional nursing standards and uses the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Maintains a constant state of alertness and safe practice. Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing. For Illinois, an official passing score on NCLEX. Required Licensure and Certifications Illinois: Basic Life Support (BLS HCP) from AHA; future BLS within 90 days; registered professional nurse within 3 months of NCLEX pass; official NCLEX pass letter. Missouri and Oklahoma: Basic Life Support (BLS HCP) from AHA; future BLS within 90 days; NCLEX results within 3 months of graduation; NCLEX test date within 30 days. Wisconsin: Basic Life Support (BLS HCP) from AHA; future BLS within 90 days; NCLEX results within 3 months of graduation; NCLEX test date within 30 days; WI nursing temporary permit. Work Shift Night shift (United States of America) – 7p.m. to 7a.m., varying nights with every third weekend, holiday requirement. Job Type Employee, Regular, Department: Cardiac Unit.
