Get to Know Your Team UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24‑hour ER with Level‑1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups. Explore Career Pathways for Laboratory Professionals Responsibilities The Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) functions as a laboratory professional who assists other laboratory personnel in specimen collection, specimen receiving, specimen processing, laboratory testing, process improvement and quality initiatives. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Basic computer skills and strong customer service skills. Preferred Job Requirements: Certification from a nationally recognized agency as a phlebotomist upon hire.
