The Mission

As a field-based expert, you’ll tackle complex system issues in real time: from tuning VFDs and verifying I/O to aligning strapping heads and validating safety circuits. You’ll blend deep technical acumen with on-the-spot problem solving and a consultative mindset to recommend parts, upgrades, and corrective actions that prevent repeat failures.

How You’ll Contribute

• Install and commission new equipment: mechanical alignment, electrical verification, safety checks, and functional testing.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electromechanical subsystems on Itipack machinery and strapping head units.
• Interpret schematics and manuals; perform I/O checks, fault analysis, parameter verification, and basic PLC/HMI diagnostics (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens).
• Return equipment to OEM specifications through targeted component repair or replacement.
• Execute root-cause analysis to eliminate recurring failures.
• Proactively visit customer sites—unscheduled—to assess reliability and identify risks.
• Contribute technical insights to parts sales, service proposals, and upgrade paths.
• Document thoroughly: service reports, failure analyses, and parts usage.
• Champion safety: electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout, and customer site rules.
• Continuously update your knowledge of automation technologies and controls standards.

What You’ll Bring

• Degree/diploma in electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, or automation.
• Hands-on industrial machinery experience with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Intermediate proficiency with schematics, control panels, and industrial wiring.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs—Allen‑Bradley and Siemens preferred.
• Proven troubleshooting across controls, sensors, motors, drives, and safety circuits.
• Analytical, methodical approach; comfortable working independently in the field.
• Adaptable to long, variable schedules without fixed start/end times.
• Exceptional communication and crisp technical documentation.

Travel, Schedule & Work Authorization

This position requires extensive travel, typically three (3) weeks per month, primarily to customer sites throughout the United States and Canada. Travel frequently involves extended workdays and time away from home. The company will sponsor and apply for a U.S. work visa as required. Dual Canadian–U.S. citizenship is considered a strong asset. A valid driver’s license and passport are required.
