Key Responsibilities\nThe role of the Trauma-Informed Mental Health Therapist encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at promoting patient recovery and resilience. Key tasks include:

- Conducting thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each patient’s trauma history and individual needs. \n
- Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans focused on empowering patients to overcome their trauma and build resilience. \n
- Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing. \n
- Delivering both individual and group therapy sessions that enable patients to process their trauma and develop effective coping strategies. \n
- Working closely with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated treatment approaches and holistic care for each patient. \n
- Addressing crisis situations with effective interventions during trauma-related emergencies. \n
- Educating patients and their families about trauma responses, recovery techniques, and available mental health resources. \n
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records while complying with legal and ethical guidelines. \n
- Participating in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development sessions focused on enhancing trauma-informed practices. \n
- Staying updated with cutting-edge research and therapeutic methodologies in trauma care. \n

Qualifications\nThe ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:

- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- Current and valid professional licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in New Jersey. \n
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, preferably in a clinical setting focused on trauma and mental health. \n
- Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities. \n
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, allowing for empathetic communication and relationship-building with a diverse patient population. \n
- Competence in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications necessary for effective documentation and communication. \n
While a minimum of two years of relevant experience is required, candidates possessing advanced experience in trauma-focused therapies and interventions, particularly EMDR, will be highly regarded. A history of collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in mental health settings is also preferred, as a team-oriented approach is essential for this role.
