Kitchen Operations Supervisor - Billings West High School

Chartwells and Billings Public Schools are seeking a dependable, experienced kitchen manager to oversee daily operations at West High School. This role supports meal service for approximately 100 students at breakfast and 200 at lunch, and prepares grocery shipments for nearby elementary schools each morning. We're looking for someone who is steady, organized, and comfortable managing all aspects of a school kitchen. If you enjoy following menus and recipes, keeping inventory in order, and working with a small team in a fast moving environment, this position is a great fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily cooking, prep, and meal service for West High students
• Gather, portion, and ship ingredients to nearby elementary schools
• Order and receive groceries, milk, and supplies
• Work with a team of 3 - 4 food service staff to keep operations running smoothly
• Complete required production and financial paperwork
• Support occasional catering or school events

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen or food service management (school, restaurant, hospital, cafeteria, etc.)
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage shifting priorities
• Clear, friendly, and straightforward communication style
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent daily operations
• ServSafe Manager Certified or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
• Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
