In this high-visibility role, you will drive post-silicon bring-up, characterization, and validation of analog and mixed-signal power-management IP for advanced AMD products. You will work at the intersection of silicon, firmware, systems, and laboratory validation to evaluate IP performance, troubleshoot complex hardware and software interactions, and optimize power-management features across operating conditions. You will collaborate closely with analog mixed-signal design, RTL, platform firmware, validation, and production teams to resolve technical issues and support the delivery of high-quality, industry-leading technologies. You bring a structured and data-driven approach to silicon debug, characterization, and root-cause analysis. You communicate effectively across technical disciplines, take ownership of challenging assignments, and can independently drive work to completion. You are detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable providing technical direction in a fast-paced product-development environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead post-silicon bring-up, characterization, and validation of analog and mixed-signal power-management IP, including integrated voltage regulators, low-dropout regulators, system-monitoring sensors, and power-gating controllers. Develop and execute characterization plans to evaluate IP performance against specifications across voltage, frequency, temperature, and process conditions. Analyze silicon measurement data and tune IP operating parameters, including voltage-frequency curves, voltage margins, power-gating sequences, and oscillator calibration. Develop and maintain firmware routines and control algorithms that configure and operate power-management IP during boot, runtime, and power-state transitions. Debug silicon failures and performance shortfalls by correlating laboratory measurements, firmware traces, register activity, RTL behavior, and schematic-level design information. Partner with analog mixed-signal design, RTL, platform firmware, validation, and production teams to resolve characterization findings and support engineering change orders when appropriate. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Post-Silicon Validation and Laboratory Debug Strong experience with post-silicon bring-up, debug, validation, and characterization. Experience characterizing analog or mixed-signal power-management IP on CPU, GPU, or other complex SoC platforms. Experience with board-level and platform-level debug, including power delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization. Proficiency using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, network analyzers, protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, thermal-control equipment, and bench power supplies. Knowledge of power-measurement techniques, including on-die current sensing, power-distribution-network probing, and voltage-drop measurement. Experience with hardware assembly, laboratory automation, and remote laboratory operations. Strong understanding of system architecture, silicon-debug methodologies, validation strategies, and root-cause analysis. Power Management and Analog Mixed-Signal IP Understanding of on-die power-management technologies, including integrated voltage regulators, low-dropout regulators, power-gating controllers, system-monitoring sensors, and voltage-frequency curve generation. Familiarity with analog building blocks such as voltage regulators, digital-to-analog converters, analog-to-digital converters, comparators, oscillators, and bandgap references. Knowledge of design-for-debug techniques and debug interfaces such as JTAG, M&M, SPMI, and scan-based architectures. Firmware, Programming, and Automation Firmware development experience using C or C++ for embedded microcontrollers, system-management units, security processors, or similar control processors. Programming and scripting experience with Python, Linux Bash, Perl, Ruby, or comparable languages. Experience developing test automation, data-collection, and analysis solutions. Familiarity with Windows scripting for platform-level validation environments. Experience using source-control systems such as Git or Perforce and working within structured firmware-development processes. Familiarity with Portable Stimulus Standard or comparable test-specification frameworks is beneficial. Data Analysis and Infrastructure Experience using Python data-analysis libraries such as pandas or NumPy, SQL databases, or comparable data-processing tools. Familiarity with MATLAB or similar tools for signal processing, characterization analysis, curve fitting, and data visualization. Experience developing scalable data pipelines and analyzing large characterization datasets. Working knowledge of networking and remote-management tools such as SSH and SCP. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
