About the Position

Job Title: Cardiovascular Rad Tech Profession: Cardiovascular Rad Tech Specialty: Cardiovascular Rad Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum one year of catheterization experience preferred License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiography (ARRT-R) required Certifications: Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice required Must-Have: Current Fluoroscopy license required within 6 months of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required Description: Aids physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders. Conducts invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems. Operates x-ray and physiological equipment. Assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Maintains equipment and records test results. Operates all special procedure equipment and selects and modifies technical factors as needed. Acts as a resource for specialized or complicated procedures. Consistently applies knowledge from complex situations to improve practice. Shares improvements with team members. Monitors, records, and evaluates patient vital signs throughout procedures. Provides protection to patients in accordance with radiation safety standards. Uses collimation, patient radiation protection, and immobilization. Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures. Regularly practices aseptic techniques. Strictly obeys isolation and infection control procedures. Operates, records, and maintains physiologic equipment in accordance with established clinical procedures. Responsible for all cardiac equipment such as C-Arms and angiographic injectors. Reports any malfunctions and practices preventive maintenance procedures. Demonstrates the ability to perform simple troubleshooting and repair. Assists physicians during special procedures and in the administration of opaque media via catheter or direct injection. Completes appropriate forms at the start and end of any special procedures. Records charges appropriately. Performs general office duties as requested. Keeps area stocked at all times. Cleans and disinfects equipment after each patient use. Daily cleans special procedures room. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Organizational requirements include receiving all required vaccinations as a condition of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. Participates in E-Verify.
